This session provides highlights on the latest public policy developments on Capitol Hill, including the status of the Federal Fiscal Year (FY 2013) appropriations and its impact on the Hispanic higher education community. We will focus on the HSI priorities in the Farm Bill Reauthorization, Workforce Investment Act Reauthorization (WIA), the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) reauthorization and student loan legislation. Staff will also review and discuss critical legislative initiatives on immigration reform and the DREAM Act, and answer questions on other legislative initiatives that directly impact HSIs.
